The Operation Teapot Blanket

The Operation Teapot Blanket

This little blanket radiates with love.

When I asked my good friend Virginia if I could crochet her a blanket for her new baby, she asked for neon and grey colors.  Virginia has a very retro-alternative style, like a if Sid Vicious and a mid-century house wife, had a baby. I love how original she is.  She definitely embraces herself and I was happy to help her, with her vision for her nursery. When I was done with the blanket and ready to name it, all I could think of was that it looked like a 50s blanket that had survived the aftermath of an atomic bomb, it just glowed with awesomeness...literally.   So, of course I named it after the nuclear test in the 1955, where they bombed the fake town, "Survival Town."  The only place a Granny Square blanket could go radioactive, The Operation Teapot Blanket.

  1. Your picture shows the colors way better than the ones I took. I really have to get a camera, because my phone just doesn't take good enough pictures. And I'm probably going to want to take lots of good pictures when he gets here :-)
